sponsorship & giving

Thank you to the generous and dedicated sponsors who make STEAM community interventions at Strong TIES possible!

The value of sponsorship & giving is key to preparing metro-Phoenix students in STEM K-12 education.  These students readiness in STEM has a direct impact for our nation sustained economic growth and sustaining its position as the world leader in industry.  According to Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD - 2012), the OECD and G20 countries will approach or surpass the U.S. attainment levels in tertiary education.   The U.S. reported that only 15% of degrees were earned in science, engineering, manufacturing, and construction (OECD, 2015).  One of the fastest growing sectors for the U.S. is high technology, or high-tech.  High-tech permeate every aspect of life − economic, social, political, and cultural − and those who create them are highly sought after.  Developing skilled technologists is core to the growth of the U.S. labor and workforce and to metro-Phoenix economic outcome.

Our sponsor’s investment positions metro-Phoenix youth for lifelong learning opportunities and enables bright pathways into STEM to be realized.  These sponsors recognize the value of harvesting from local seeds.  They see STEM K-12 education as a complement to their business strategies and see their support of
Strong TIES STEAM community interventions as a way to let their diverse teams and employees contribute to the local community in which we live and work.

On January, 30, 2016, former President Obama announced an amazing new initiative called “Computer Science (CS) for All” to address access to CS at the K-12 levels.  According to the White House press release, this $4 billion investment aims to increase the number of children who have access to computer science classes in school, “a move he (President Obama) said is necessary to ensure that students are competitive in a job market that rewards technological know-how”.  With the support of these generous sponsors, Strong TIES and its’ community-building partners play a role in achieving Computer Science for All.
